About us

1982

One year later HTT moved to El- Obeid the capital of North Kurdufan and the largest market for Gum Arabic in the world and a massive auction for agricultural seeds where the company established a small office acting as an agent for the big export companies in Khartoum.

1985

1989 we established the company under the name of Hassabo Trading and Transport Co. ltd consisting of small rented processing stores (400 sq metres) in El Rahad, a small town in the region where lies the premium quality of Hibiscus in the world as well as Gum Arabic.

1990

• 1994 HTT reached an eye catching 40% market share of the total Hibiscus export market of Sudan. At the time we opened a new processing store east of El Rahad in El Simeh of (4000 sq metres), and further 500 sq metres in Um rwaba town not far away to cope with the high demand for our Elephant Brand.

2001

In 2010 and in corporation with our long standing partner we have become the

    first and only socially responsible certified company in Sudan.

 

Our tale started in 1982 when Hassabo Trading and Transport (HTT) the first born of the group started as a small shop in the local market of Babanosa (a city in North Kurdufan state and a home of big market for Ground nuts, Hibiscus and Watermelon seeds).

1983

• 1985 we extended our business to buying different kinds of agricultural products (Sesame, Gum Arabic etc.) selling to local market and main exporters.

1989

• 1990 and due to regional difficulties at the time such as communication between El-Obeid and international markets and the need to stay upbeat with competition the company moved to Khartoum in order to enter the international market as a brand name (HTT) exporting specially Hibiscus flower and Sesame Seeds. In addition we rented small stores for processing in El Rahad.

Our start up mission was to deliver 50 tons to Germany in a make or break deal, due to our fine products and high quality finishing HTT managed to built high trust through our reliability, shipping on time and quality of service were the soul reasons for our customers’ satisfaction.

1994

With business moving at pace the company spent $1.3 million in 2001 in order built one of the most modern storage and processing stores (12,000 sq meters, making the total storage and processing capacity to 26,000 sq meters, 279’864 Sq. ft) in the area and the first of its kind and class the whole region of Kurdufan had come to see, which became our main processing and storage centre fit and comfortable enough to accommodate all our different products. Up to present everyone at the group strives to help the company to continue to be a leading brand name in the export market of all the countries we enter.

 

2010

Diversification

 

 

To cover the needs of the local market and a few countries in the Middle East such as Egypt and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia we introduced fine and small packaging. This is of course with our wholesale of different classes of raw material HPS (Hand Pick Selected) Sifting and CSR quality which are exported around the world.

From Egypt we are now processing Tea bag fine-cut products for the industrial use.

At HG we devote a generous amount of finance each year to invest in research program in discovering more about our products and investing in finding new markets all the time necessary for us to stay ahead of competition.

 Our expansion strategy paid off as we one day reached to export 30% of the total world production of Hibiscus.

Our expansion strategies continue to take place and the company is about to open a new branch in Egypt storing processed products acting as a wholesaler and a distributer to meet the demands of the local market.

As part of the group’s expansion strategy in 2003, HG established a new office for processing in Kano, Nigeria, in order meet the needs of the high demands of our customers in (Mexico, Germany, Russia, India, Poland, Ukraine, Egypt, China, Guatemala and Estonia) who sincerely approved the quality of our brand.

 

In 2012 Alyaa Trading company was established in Egypt, Specializing in the local importation and trade of our commodities locally as well as export of Egyptian fine made materials.

 

In 2014 we established Norris International Trading in Sudan as a sister company for Hassabo Trading.

 

In 2016 HT Global of the United Arab Emirates was born to cope with and facilitate the diverse financial nature of our business.
